Particularly with places like China, which change almost daily, it would almost be impossible to keep up.

It’s funny that you suggest we eat at only traveler’s cafes. If I remember correctly, your cafe was similarly focused on travelers and expats. And although we mention Mei Mei as a Western breakfast alternative (not always easy to find in China), you’ll notice that we place greater emphasis on the local food in China options.

Do you know how many times I’ve seen packages of pork belly in upscale Chinese supermarkets, or cooked pork belly in upscale restaurants, with hairs still poking out? Ruins the appetite.
