Hope this is the year for your trip to Sri Lanka! As for train travel in Sri Lanka, we loved it and it’s a great way to see the country. You can see in the article above the differences between the 1st/2nd class trains and the 3rd class trains. So, I’d say go for a rail tour!

I have been thinking about taking a trip to Sri Lanka for a long while, but I seem to always settle for the classic Euro trip. I think this is the year!

I’m thinking about doing a Sri Lankan rail tour. To me this looks like quite a holistic tour of Sri Lanka. Just wanted to get your opinion on whether trains are a comfortable means of transport, or should I be avoiding them at all costs?
